Create community-defined visions and strategic plans to improve the lives of residents.
Develop new leaders and sharpen their skills.
Win reforms at the community level.
Develop accountable infrastructure that sustains the work to improve their communities.
Networking groups together into regional councils who:
Convene leaders together to develop skills, create strategies and support one another.
Connect grassroots groups with policy groups or experts to investigate issues.
Gain experience working in coalitions and influencing policy makers.
Guide the Panel organizing within the region.
Building a statewide coalition - the Arkansas Citizens First Congress - who:
Connects grassroots leaders from across the state to learn about issues, deepen analysis and create holistic, lasting solutions to the problems affecting us.
Crosses lines of race, class, geography and other divisions to develop a common strategy to win reforms and build long term influence on the policy process .
Watchdogs the policy-making process and keeps community activists informed so they can make a difference on the issues they care the most about.
